“There is something in every one of you that waits and listens for the sound of the genuine in yourself. It is the only true guide you will ever have.”

— Howard Thurman (author and civil rights leader)

I’m here to help you find that genuine voice inside of you. Working together is about learning to tune in and orient to your inner compass. As a coach, I help you set and work towards your goals, reflect the patterns and invisible stories I’m seeing, and gently challenge you-- all in service of aligning with what is important to you

We can work together on:

  • Confident and embodied leadership

  • Working with challenging emotions (anxiety, anger, etc.)

  • Overcoming fears and limiting beliefs

  • Career and life transitions

  • Building healthy relationships (to yourself, family, colleagues)

  • Confidence, self-esteem, and self-compassion

After a free intro session, I prefer to coach clients at weekly or bi-weekly for at least four months, so we have time to dig in and see results. Sessions are 60 minutes held online via Zoom. Longer sessions (75 or 90 minutes) at prorated rates are also an option.

I work with clients in a few main ways (or a blend of them together):

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a way of understanding yourself and shifting stuck patterns. IFS is an evidenced-based psychotherapy model that starts with the premise that it's normal for all of us to have a number of sub-personalities (called parts in IFS) as well as a deeper true Self. We work compassionately with all parts, to understand and ultimately heal them through connection with your true Self. Our Self is compassionate, curious, creative, and calm, and this process helps you access more of these qualities within you. This can be a really useful technique if you're struggling with a change in your life, have a relationship or behavior pattern that you want to change (like a vocal inner critic, procrastination, or harmful anger), or are feeling stuck. Learn more about Internal Family Systems.

Leadership Coaching

The inner work of leadership is about knowing yourself, your strengths, limitations and growth areas. Often what got you here isn’t going to get you to the next level, especially if you’re used to solving problems with more of your own time and effort. Working together, we recognize what strengths you’ve used to get this far and see what patterns need to change. I work with new managers, emerging leaders and established leaders that are ready for their next phase of growth. You can be a leader in any role, though leadership coaching has special meaning if you’ve been newly promoted, if you are in a people management role, or a senior/executive level. We’ll work together to help you be at your best in order to bring out the best in your team.  To me, leadership is about finding balance: in your work and life, between being caring and challenging, and between confidence and humility.

Career Coaching

I’ll guide you to articulate your goals and dreams, and we’ll figure out actionable next steps. We often start with identifying your values and strengths, so we know where we’re building from and how to orient. From there, we’ll find ways to investigate both through reflection and reality testing to help you figure out your next career move, whether that’s a big career transition, going for a promotion, or gaining confidence where you are.

Please note: I am a coach and certified Internal Family Systems practitioner. I’m not licensed to provide counseling or psychotherapy in any jurisdiction. I do not assess, evaluate, diagnose, or treat mental illness or emotional disorders, and working with me is not a substitute for medical advice, clinical therapy or treatment.

What clients love about coaching with Steph:

“Working with Steph has been amazing.  Her passion and skill for IFS is very apparent.  She is so skilled at holding a strong, safe container for exploration.  Because I found it easy to trust her, I was willing to explore very vulnerable parts of myself.”

— Amie (San Francisco, CA)

“Steph is incredibly skilled at creating a safe space for these sessions. Her infinite compassion and capacity to see the good in me, in each client, supports me completely as I dive deep into my own challenges, which makes her sessions consistently powerful.”

— Lindsey (San Diego, CA)
